๐Ÿ’œ The Whole City Becomes a BTS Stage

BTS THE CITY ARIRANG Busan Complete Guide (June 5–21)

Back in late April, I wrote a post about how to explore Busan — the hometown of Jimin and Jungkook — ahead of the June BTS concert. I already knew then that this was going to be a massive event, but as the date gets closer, the scale of it just keeps hitting differently.

You've heard the news, right? Last week at the 52nd American Music Awards in Las Vegas, BTS swept Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best K-Pop Male Artist — a triple crown. They beat out Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, and Bruno Mars to take home the top prize, making it their second Artist of the Year win, five years after becoming the first Asian act ever to receive the honour in 2021. And that BTS is coming to Busan next week.

Travel searches for Busan surged 2,375% within 48 hours of the world tour announcement. Both concert dates sold out during presale, and every foreign-friendly accommodation in the city — including temple stays — is fully booked. Reuters estimates the total revenue from this world tour will reach approximately $1.8 billion USD. Pretty incredible, right?

And here's the thing — even if you don't have a concert ticket, even if you're not here on concert day, Busan will be completely filled with BTS. From June 5 to 21, the city itself transforms into one enormous BTS festival.

๐ŸŒ† What Is BTS THE CITY ARIRANG — BUSAN?

BTS THE CITY ARIRANG — BUSAN is a citywide cultural project designed to fill every corner of Busan with BTS's music and story, running alongside the concert dates. Building on the concept HYBE first introduced in 2022, this edition has been developed in close collaboration with Busan Metropolitan City, making it an open festival that residents and tourists alike can enjoy — no ticket required.

The project runs June 5–21, centred around the concert dates of June 12 and 13. June 13 also happens to be BTS's debut anniversary — their 13th, this year — which makes the whole thing feel even more special.

๐Ÿ—บ️ Busan's Landmarks Go Full BTS

This is the part I'm most excited about. No tickets, no reservations needed — BTS will be everywhere.

Gwangan Bridge Drone Light Show & Media Faรงades

Gwangan Bridge will host a spectacular drone light show, while the Busan Cinema Center will put on an immersive Big Roof light display. The Busan Eurasia Platform and Gwangbok-ro media faรงades will also be transformed with BTS visuals, artwork, and musical references.

The drone show over Gwangan Bridge is something you absolutely have to see in person. I still remember how completely it took over everyone's feeds during BTS in BUSAN back in 2022. This year's version is expected to be even bigger — I can't wait.

Haeundae Beach — Love Song Lounge & Love Quarter

Around Haeundae Beach, two themed spaces — Love Song Lounge and Love Quarter — will be set up in connection with the city's annual Sand Festival, open for anyone to enjoy freely. BTS and the Haeundae Sand Festival in the same breath? As a Busan local, that combination feels surprisingly natural.

๐ŸŽช ARMY MADANG @ The Bay 101 (Reservation Required)

At The Bay 101, the fan community space ARMY MADANG will bring together cutting-edge tech and entertainment experiences, including the Samsung Galaxy Experience (exclusive merch and custom sticker design activities), the TIRTIR Concert Ready Bar, and a Google Gemini booth.

The Bay 101 is that stunning waterfront venue right on Haeundae — with experiences like these on offer, you could easily spend half a day there. Reservations are required, so check BTS's official Weverse channel in advance!

๐Ÿ›️ BTS Pop-Up Store @ Shinsegae Centum City (June 5–14)

BTS POP-UP: ARIRANG opens at Shinsegae Department Store Centum City from June 5 to 14, featuring official merchandise and interactive exhibition spaces. Reservations will be required for select areas.

Centum City is one of those places where shopping and culture naturally come together, which makes the logistics really easy. Official merch tends to go fast, so I'd recommend visiting in the first few days of the pop-up if you can.

๐Ÿจ Paradise Hotel Busan — The Official IP Hotel

Paradise Hotel Busan has been designated as the only official IP hotel for BTS THE CITY ARIRANG BUSAN. Themed rooms will run from June 5 to 21, stocked with official merchandise including a string bag, travel pouch, and transparent acrylic topper. The windows overlooking Haeundae Beach will be decorated with design cubyons, turning each room into its own photo spot.

Haeundae ocean views plus a BTS theme. I have a feeling the rooms are already gone.

๐Ÿฝ️ Busan's Local Food Scene Joins In

Some of Busan's most beloved local brands are part of the collaboration, including Momos Yeongdo Roastery, Goraesa Fishcake, Haeundae Amsogalbi-jip, and Port Village Busan. Port Village Busan 2026 runs June 4–21 at Pier 1 of Busan Port, bringing together 50 local food and beverage teams alongside a lifestyle market and various experience spaces.

Sitting at the port with a sea breeze, local food in hand, and BTS playing in the background. I mean — does it get better than that?

๐ŸŽฌ Can't Be There? — Live Viewing

If you haven't managed to get a ticket, or you're watching from somewhere else in the world, there's still a way to be part of it. BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' IN BUSAN: LIVE VIEWING will broadcast the June 13 concert live to cinemas around the world — and June 13 is BTS's 13th debut anniversary, making it an especially meaningful date. Tickets went on sale May 28 at 9 AM ET.

๐ŸŒŠ As Someone Who Lives Here

I felt it back in 2022 during BTS in BUSAN, and I know I'll feel it again — when THE CITY comes to Busan, this place becomes a completely different city. Standing along Gwangalli Beach as drones light up the sky above the water, the sea wind on your face — that's something only people who've been here for it truly understand.

This time around, you don't need a concert ticket. If you're in Busan anywhere between June 5 and 21, that's enough. The whole city is the stage. ๐Ÿ’œ
